Hello all, I'm new to the nullDC Dreamcast Emulator. I got it all up and running the other day, enjoying the hell out of my old Dreamcast games.:thumb: But I kinda wanna hack infinite health and stuff into some of the titles. On my actual Dreamcast System, I've got a couple of hackers and I used to hack the games all the time. Lord knows I would NOT have survived 'Illbleed' without 'em.:dead: Anyway, I've got NRG files for all three popular hackers, Code Breaker, Game Shark, and Action Replay, but when I load them into nullDC, I keep getting a long list of errors from the Maple plugin, and the NRG won't load.

I just get a white screen. Since I'm new to nullDC, I may be wrong, but isn't the Maple plugin what handles the controller and VMUs? If so, then is Maple having trouble creating VMU Save Data for the Hackers? I know Game Shark used to save its data to its own VMU Device, but Code Breaker saved to the actual Dreamcast VMU.

Is Maple giving me errors because the Code Breaker is an unlicensed device and creates saves in a method Maple can't handle? Sorta unrelated, but on my ePSXe Playstation Emulator, I use the PEC Program to hack the games. It's not a seperate ISO like the Code Breaker or anything, but rather edits the Scratch RAM directly through the Video Plugin - I've had no trouble with that program. Is there anything like ePSXe's PEC for nullDC? Either way, I just wanna hack my games on nullDC.any recommendations on a method or someway to fix my Code Breaker, Action Replay or Game Shark? Instead of using the built-in 'User' INF file, I just use Windows NotePad and edit the pre-existing 'Codelist' INF file. I manually deleted all codes for games I didn't want, like sports and shooters, and added a bunch of custom codes for my RPGs.:thumb: Since I was editing the main archive instead of the User-additions, whenever I run PEC for ePSXe, my custom codes always appear instead of the pre-loaded junk. It was easy to do. If the Art Money program is capable of storing codes in the system RAM to actually effect the game in-play, then I sure there's a way to backup that RAM file and have it pre-load. I might have to edit the program myself to make it do that.but it can be done. Thanks anyway. Anybody else have any ideas?:innocent.

Um.heads up.it isn't illegal to crack freeware. What I meant by 'crack' was to locate a copy of the program's source code to edit a save function into it, via C++, not hack a free version of the pay-software - that would be 'pirate' - two completely different terms, often mixed up by internet surfers.

Forgive me, I should have been more clear on that. Art Money Pro is pay software, but Art Money Special Edition is free, I'm not breaking any laws by cracking a save function into it, when there isn't one to begin with. Plus, I don't even need to. The Special Edition version 7.28, which I just downloaded from the program's home site does allow hacking tables to be saved.

OO Anyway.I managed to get Art Money Special Edition to locate the addresses for 'Infinite Money' and 'Heart Rate 50' on Illbleed, so I'm happy with the program, but I still have a lot of addresses to locate, such as Health, Bleeding and Adrenalin. I've found the addresses for every in-game stat except Current Time. Everything is working great, so I moved on to the next game. I managed to find the addressess for Health for three characters, and for the second character, Max's, Gun Ammo.

But it seems if I die during a stage (falling of an edge or something), the address for the Health on characters Kurt and Dr. Hawkins changes - so my codes no longer work and need to be relocated. So far, I've recorded the address changing twice, once per death.

I haven't died as Max yet, but I am assuming the glitch will effect him too, since it effected the other two characters. It's rather annoying to keep updating the Health Code everytime I make a mistake in a stage, so I'm still keeping optimistic that someone will assist me in finding a more traditional hacker for nullDC - something I can plug a CodeBreaker code into.
