Musically, this is the Ramones most diverse album in sound. People often say this album is the Ramones cross between Hardcore Punk, which is right of course!

But to me, I can see more than just hardcore punk. If you listen to it closely, you can sense a bit of New Wave (Chasing the Night, Howling At The Moon) and Post Punk (Planet Earth 1988 and Danger Of Love). This album is a mix of everything that made punk so great in the late 70s-mid 80s. This album has it all, and I would recommend it to anyone that has a general love or nostalgia for punk music.

Every time I look at this album cover I wonder if I should post it or not. Given the losses the Ramones suffered in the 21st century, the title and image takes on a new bittersweetness, and one or two of the 1984 KCMU DJs’ comments take on a harsher edge than probably intended.
