Magic The Gathering Wagic Psp Download
Dec 03, 2009 Wagic v0.9.2 Wololo released an update for his Wagic homebrew a couple weeks ago. Wagic is a card game similar to Magic: The Gathering. PSP Downloads The.
First of all, I'm a beginner in the Linux world, so I would like to thank the community for all the information on this site. I'm slowly falling in love with Linux.;) Yesterday I came across a Windows/PSP/Linux tactical fantasy card game engine called Wagic: It's highly costumizable and opensourced. Plus, it's the engine for my favourite card game in high school. Could we play it on n800 in some way (Easy Mer/Debian maybe)? If the answer is yes, then how can I get it to work? Kind of on-topic.
But this ('is in python+gtk and seems like it may work for MTG. I'm toying with it now to see what pans out.
IMO (from the user's perspective) it's better to take a game which has already user base and online community. But I don't know anything of the difficulties of porting opengl vs python.
Don't Iet me discourage you, I will be a happy panda if - some way or the other - I will be able to play MTG on my tablet in the immediate future. Kind of on-topic. But this ('is in python+gtk and seems like it may work for MTG.
I'm toying with it now to see what pans out. I can say this didn't pan out so well. I got it to launch and pretend to play after finding and downloading all the card information (which it required). But when trying to start a new game it would segfault. It took a bit of work to get it that far. So I gave up.
For Wagic we're waiting on Viraptop I guess. I don't know how to port from GL to GLES. I didnt know how to play the game i keep pressing A, space and Q and another thing.the cards have no pictures! Spacebar = Used as confirm button in main menu and used to tap mana, & place land on play area attack/defend (etc) during actual gameplay Enter = Kind of like a 'start' menu, can bring you back to title screen, muligan in the beginning of a game and save and exit changes in the option menu A = In title menu goes to Achievments and card spoilers, while in play it brings up the current cards in yout hand in a side menu (also hides it) Q = While in play it advances you to your next phase (Upkeep, draw, phase, you choose when each phase ends). Im assuming that you have played magic before (so you know the rules, etc). And the pics they are avialable on the Wagic forum Im downloading the PSP picture pack right now, Im assuming you just put it in the right directory and voila (ima have to search for it as im not sure where wagic installs to) EDIT: directory is /home/user/MyDocs/wagic/Res/sets after you download unzip the 500mb zip there, im downloading it now but its gonna take a while.
You can also set keybindings in options. Defaults are 32 / Space / Circle 65 / A / R-trigger 74 / J/ Square 75 / K / Cross 81 / Q / L-trigger 16777217 / Right Alt or something? / Triangle - I think this is missing 16777219 / Backspace / Select 16777221 / Enter / Start 1677237 / Arrow Keys The main Wagic download archive contains a manual which includes controls and how to play. Edit: the manual says Triangle is for switching to your deck in deck editor mode, this seems to be covered by Square. Nice, some people are actually using this stuff:) A few hints that might help you: - Wagic installs its executable binary in /opt/wagic/ and all its resources in /home/user/Mydocs/wagic/Res.
I did that so that you just have to use USB to totally modify the resources there by adding themes, cards picture, custom cards set. You can find all that in the Wagic forums here (Of course it means that you cannot play wagic when the user partition is mounted on the PC. - I tested Wagic on the N900 with PC res cards (this is what you see in the video I posted), it worked fine.
You could in theory also use PSP res cards or even the new 'tiny crop' res cards, I didn't test them. - To interrupt spells, I press 'k' with the default binding. I think you need to have the interruptions authorized in the setting. - I added a very basic touch interface mapped directly on the keyboard interface. So, you can use your finger to drag the current selected card. You can also double tap to activate a card. The drag stuff also work in the menus.
I'll work on a more complex touch interface starting from now, it will probably takes some time:) So, I'll monitor this thread, if you have ideas or suggestion I should add, feel free to comment here if it's related to my N900 port or directly in the wagic forum if it's related to he wagic core. Just installes the game and played - great work:-) But I've got a problem, tried with PSP-pics and HQ-Pics: When playing a game I get all card-pictures.
When I'm in the shop it only shows the first card with Pic and all others just text. This repeats when changing to new cards. In the deckbuilder I get both Picture (slightly visible) with overlaid text on white background I just copied over the Sets-folder from the PC-version where I don't get this behavior.
Anyone else noticing this? EDIT: Just gave a new keybinding to 'triangle' to toggle Pictures in the deckbuilder. It works but even when pictures a on they are overlaied by the text-only-version Regards, Glasswalker. Anyone else noticing this? Regards, Glasswalker i didnt try the shop but the psp pack is working fine, u said that the PC pack is working great why don't u post its link? In the deck builder, you can not see all the card graphics, most of them are displayed in text mode during games, sometimes card graphics gets massively downscaled (around 500%). When this happens, the card text is no more readable. [/LIST] For the first bug: you (or: at least I) can see all the pictures in the deckbuilder but they are all overlaid by the text, toggling 'show pictures' doesn' change this only that you can see the picture behind the white background (slightly translucent) Did you see something odd in the shop on the N900?
Regards, Glasswalker. I've got a 0.13.1maemo1 fixing both foggy and deck editor on its way to extras-dev.
Thanks mate, just installed. The update worked wonders:-) Perfect HQ-images in deckbuilder and shop. EDIT: just played some games and got to say: damn great work you did with this port so far:-) I'd suggest 2 changes 2 changes than it would be ready for primetime. Map 'triangle' to something sensible it would be great if you could manage that the screen where you map keys would show the actual letter and not only a cryptic numer Best regards, Glasswalker. In fact that game is awesome as it is glasswalker. U can configure the buttons from options, thats what i did and i have english layout like most of us. And Xawotihs when u said the fixation in on its way to extra devel will it appear as yellow notification (update) or how will we get it?
I haven't said that the game is bad or something quite the contrary. As the applicationmanager only checks every 24h for updates open ist and refresh your application-list manually (with extras-devel enabled) about the layout: Im 'glad for you that you've got 4 directionkeys BUT there are some counties that got more letters or special characters than english (example: the German 'umlaute'. So on german keypads you've got only to keys (left and right standard and up/down as secondary function If I where you I'd be carefull with that 'most of us' statement;-) This isn't meant as harsh as it sounds but 'one size fits all' isn't allways true mate:-) I remapped the keys but if you should ever forgett what you mapped them to you can't easyly look it up in the options-menue as there are only numbercodes. Regards, Glasswalker. @AgogData: do you have details of the problem?
It could happen for example if you have /home/user/Mydocs mounted on a PC. If you just want the update now and do not want to look around, you can always backup your Res settings and Res player, remove the game, install the new version and restore those directories. As a PSP game, Wagic hasn't got yet a very clean Unix way to store preferences and settings. @Glasswalker: I'm playing on a swiss layout which is very close from a german layout and I have large hands. It's actually painful to play more than one consecutive game on the N900 with the default layout. That's why I added a basic touch interface, and that's why I want to add a real touch interface to the game. It would also bring a mouse support to the windows version at the same time.

That sounds really great:-) I don't have that big hands (I'm more the skinny one) but after 2 or 3 games it really gets arkward. @AgogData Thanks for the detail error log. You were root when you started it, right? This error seems weird.
To be honest, it's my first maemo app and I had to fight a lot to deploy the Wagic files as I wanted, I guess something is not compatible with the upgrade mechanism. I'll look in details as soon as I have more times. For the moment, you should do like I proposed, backup your current Res Player and Res Settings and every other stuff you added to the game and deinstall-reinstall, it should work. I've got Wagic starting to work in the menus and battle with the touch interface.
It means that you can select a card to cast or to activate by touching it. And you can still perform the cast or activation by double tapping on the screen.
To be able to fully play without the keyboard, I would need to map the 'spell interruption' and 'go to next phase' events. I've got several ideas: - I could map the events to the accelerometer.
For example, 'go to next phase' could be linked to tilting the device to the right, 'spell interruption' could be linked to tilting the device to the left - I could also use the sound or camera buttons What do you guys think? Im not gonna update to that, i like it keyboarded style:D. I can confirm the problem when upgrading the package.
I uninstalled it completely and then reinstall without problems. I see that texts for cards are translated (I set Spanish in the configuration menu) until you use scanned cards from the Wagic forums (at least the low res PSP ones). I suppose that this is an issue with the original Wagic, not the port, they use the scanned image or the empty card with text but not combine them. Regarding the interface, it's a bit difficult to figure out how to achieve certain actions with the keyboard, and I would really appreciate a touch interface, but as others have said, please stay away from accelerometer. The camera key could be used to do certain actions or to launch a menu to choose from.
I really appreciate your work. Having MTG in your pocket has no equal in the mobile market (apart from the PSP of course) and should be noticed outside this forum. I added in the Wagic SVN code to handle the zooming/volume buttons. I mapped them to 'next phase' and 'interrupt'. I looked around for the camera button support but it seems I would have to stop the camera daemon when we start Wagic and start it again when we stop Wagic. I don't think it's a good idea I think you guys are right about this accelerometer stuff, it was just a bad idea, so I won't continue on it I'm really happy about the current state of the touch interface in the Wagic SVN.
It currently only work in menu, sub-menu and battle. Exception in battle are graveyards which are not browsable by touch.
It does not work in shop and deck builder. I'll continue to work on this and I would like to have it in the next Maemo release. The current key interface will of course continue to work as it is now.
I'll also try to fix in this next release the upgrade problem. Thank you Xawotihs for this port. I downloaded Wagic this afternoon and played a game. It is a bit awkward in the sense that i need to remember to use the space bar and not my fingers.:D What i did find a little confusing was being able to access options such as 1, 0, x, etc when asked for countering attacks and the use of instancts, etc. Is it possible to allocate other keys for this?
Is there a possibility of making this game a stylus friendly game? Once again, thanks for all your effort!! It is really appreciated and to those who helped test as well! Thanks for this code sample, this should help a lot:) No problem. Oh and don't forget the third rule of software development: Don't over-engineer.
Feel free to implement a manual pause as a quick measure, maybe either mapped to 'p' or triggered when main -menu is opened. Regarding saving: AgogData makes it sound like some of the saving code may exist for campaign mode already (assuming I'm reading this right?). I'm curious about looking through the source code to see what's there already - are your changes merged with the codebase of the primary project or are you hosting elsewhere (garage, github etc)?
Go to /home/user/.config/tracker/ and edit tracker.cfg. Find the line 'NoWatchDirectory' and put wagic directory there. Eg: NoWatchDirectory=$HOME/MyDocs/wagic; everytime i add the wagic line its somehow removed and return to this!! What i do is copying it from the directory you posted to mydocs and edit it and then copy it back to the original directory # List of directory roots NOT to index and NOT to watch (separator=;) NoWatchDirectory=$HOME/MyDocs/core-dumps/;$HOME/MyDocs/cities/;$HOME/MyDocs/.sounds/Ringtones/;$HOME/MyDocs/tmp/;/media/mmc1/tmp/;/media/mmc1/cities/; # Set to false to completely disable any watching EnableWatching=true.

I used 'tracker cfg' from devel repository und this worked flawless in addig wagic to the no tracking list. All you have to remeber ist to save changes and to let it recreate the Tracker-DB. This takes some time depending on how many songs movies ect.
You got on your device. Glasswalker ok i got tracker-cfg from devel and added wagic and clicked on save.
Should i uncheck the 'enable watching'? Or click on rebuild database cause when i clicked on rebuild a warning msg about restart tracker showed up and looked risky, what do you think? Touch interface is in addition.
You can use whichever you prefer during a game without having to quit it to go in the settings. I'm using touch since a few days and most of the time, for me, it's way better then keyboard and I'm playing with keyboard shut.
The only exception is the selection of a player. It can be tricky with touch so I may still use keyboard in this case. So that means touch and keyboard are functioning together?
I dont like that you will be very cautious when playing with keyboard not to do a wrong touch and many other disadvantages:X btw how to go from phas to the next phase in touch? And how do u open ur hand list? Touch interface is in addition. Thanks for porting this, I am a huge mtg fan and its great to see it running on my N900. I've occasionally wanted to show people what mtg looks like and this can do it without having to break out the cards. Have you released a version with the touch enabled?
I have 0.13.1maemo1 installed - it seems to respond when I touch the screen but not in the way shown by your video! I've played just about every mtg online/offline client out there and the one achilles when playing against the cpu is the AI. I guess I would need to get involved with the main Wagic project to be able to contribute AI improvements? We're about to release Wagic 0.14 soon for all the platforms. I'll synchronize the release of the maemo port including a couple of meamo specific enhancements, one of them being the touch interface. Another being the CPU consumption reduction.
It should be released before the end of the month. Regarding the AI, 0.14 contains some AI improvements. There are a lot of discussions around this subject in the Wagic forums, you should just have a look.
My opinion is that while we do not have a real min-max algo in the game, the AI will remain weak. About the touch interface i hope its as you said a side option not main cause keyboarding is cooler 2. About AI in-game option you can choose difficulty, i have it set at easy and yet the opponent is smart like sometimes i attack and he don't defend just cause he has an artifact that makes him stronger next turn when my only creature is tapped and much more surprising moves that he could do 3. I always encourage low cpu consumption and thats what i noticied when playing wagic the device is hot, but @ 600 Mhz no OC there is no slowness or lagging.
@xaworths I upgraded yesterday, and have been playing as much as i can. I like the new look and the fact that the screen maximises on opening the application.
There is a hint of touchscreen usability, but not enough to get through to the game/play the game, unless i have fallen off the bus somewhere along the line;D One minor, possible bug, on some of the games, when i get massacred, the game closes down and throws me onto my active desktop. This bug is more apparent when i lose games. Other than that, whatever you are doing, keep on doing it:D this game is my all time favourite and the new version is looking GOOD! Thank you once again for this! @xaworths I upgraded yesterday, and have been playing as much as i can.

There is a hint of touchscreen usability, but not enough to get through to the game/play the game, unless i have fallen off the bus somewhere along the line;D About the touch screen usability. I must say that I'm using the keyboard only to mulligan or to modify a deck. When I play a few games, I don't use the keyboard at all: I do all the cards operation using my fingers on the screen, and I use the volume button to interrupt and go to next phase.
@xaworths One minor, possible bug, on some of the games, when i get massacred, the game closes down and throws me onto my active desktop. This bug is more apparent when i lose games. We had several problems like that reported already. Those are bugs in the game engine itself. If you have details on them, the best way is to post them directly in the wagic forum. I uploaded the current wagic beta 0.14 in extra-devs.
So, you should be able to upgrade your current version. I'm curious to know what you think of this version, so I'm waiting for your feedback.
Hi:-) just installed the update and played a game (better said I tried to.) Maybe that I'm blind but I can't find the spot to click to see my own hand. Something I noticed: in the new screen where you select your own deck to play you've got to click under the intended deck to select it (four decks below). This means also that I can't scroll all the decks as I hit the end of the touchscreen, clicking further up it hopps those 4 decks up. In the next sceen (choose enemy's deck) you can directly click the deck. More if I detect something:-) Big thanks und thumbs up for your work on this port, Glasswalker.
Thx for the new update:) looks great, and touch controles works amazing! I think i found a bug that crashes and i can reproduce it every time. 2 ways to reproduce: 1: go into options.
Press one time on the volume key set to interrupt (set to X?), now press enter( set to start) to open popup menu. Game crashes instantly 2: same goes if you enter a classic game.
Press 1 time on volume key for interrupt and press enter. And game crashes instantly. Can others reproduce this error or is it only me? (could be config files from previous version.). @Glasswalker You need to activate once in the option the fact that your hand needs to stay visible, otherwise you need to press 'a' each time you want it to appear. Regarding the new screens problem, I'll have a look Got an update to this issue. 1) it only happens after scrolling down and the difference depents on how far down you scrolled 2) don't know if it helps but I can reproduce this bug on the windows version with mouse support Maybe it would be possible to add a scrollbarin the deck-selection as scrolling works be draggin out of the decklist just right now (true for maemo and win version) Regards, Glasswalker.
Thanks for these bug reports. It will help to stabilize both the new mouse version on Windows and the N900 version as they are both using the same Qt frontend. I'll try to fix them for the final 0.14 version. By the way: I'd like to post a featurerequest: Would it be possible to add mousesupport to the optionsmenue? Just right now its quite a mess to use with keyboard. Sometimes it doesn't react at all sometimes nearly every button moves te horizontal category. Might be that I'm missing the system behind this behavior Regards and thanks, Glasswalker PS: Now with permanently open hand i can play:-D Thanks for the tip.
For info, I had some problems after installing the version 0.14.0maemo0 from extra-testing. This was the first time I ever installed it.
And after installation, I click on the icon and the game was not launched. Then I rebooted and retried. Still nothing. I thought I should launch it from the terminal to see the error message: went to /home/opt/wagic and type./wagic and then it worked. I retried the button from the menu and it worked. I cannot say much as I am very poorly knowledgeable with this kind of stuff. But it may be useful for someone.
@ Xawotish - First, I want to thank you again for the hard work you put into this excellent port, so THANKS!:) Secondly, do you think it'd be possible to implement some sort of a 'save game' option? I'm sorry if this question came up somewhere here in this thread, but as I read through all of it and didn't notice it being brought up. A 'save game' option could really be nice during a duel, as sometimes the duels can be quite long and I find myself sometimes being forced to quit the game before the duel is finished. @jsomby I noticed something equivalent on my N900. After a fresh install on an unconnected device, the game crashed during a few tries then sudently started to work fine. I have currently no clue why it does that.
I plan to change the install process a lot in the next version, I hope this problem will disappear during the revamp. @efekt the save feature was already requested several times. As it's a consequent dev, you should directly request it on the main wagic forum so that we can judge if a lot of users are interrested in such a feature. We had several problems like that reported already. Those are bugs in the game engine itself.
If you have details on them, the best way is to post them directly in the wagic forum. Ok.the problem is very frustrating, 1 in 3 games crash every time i play (which is a lot:D) I went to the wololo.net and got this reply to my post Re: Wagic 0.14 Public Beta by wololo ยป Tue Dec 28, 2010 5:25 am @gryedouge: there is a wagic thread on the maemo forums, until we get a maemo dedicated subforum here you might have better luck over there: I'm closing this topic since 0.14.1 was released:( Maybe my best option is to uninstall 0.14 and install 0.14.1? Xawotihs, thank you for what is imo the major game on Maemo.
I have been testing the Maemo port (too much) recently.:p Touch: -the touch interface could use some precision tuning but generally works very well -targeting an opponent for damage seems impossible by touch, the opponent's picture highlights but nothing happens upon clicking the image ->one needs to use the HW keyboard arrows + spacebar (default) to select and confirm damage to an opponent directly. -also the damage distribution screen leaves me very confused with touch and I need to get the HW keyboard to skip through it. But maybe I just don't get it yet. It would be nice if one could play a gaming without having to rely on the hardware keyboard. Your time and effort to fine tune this application on Maemo will be greatly appreciated. General IA: -the massive processing power of Cortex A8 seems not to be put to good use.
The AI does not think very long and comes up with not so clever moves / non moves Is there a way to choose longer calculation times resulting in more challenging (natural game play? Xawotihs, thank you for what is imo the major game on Maemo. I have been testing the Maemo port (too much) recently.:p You're welcome. I think it does that to a lot of people, IMHO it's related to the addictive nature of MTG Touch: -the touch interface could use some precision tuning but generally works very well -targeting an opponent for damage seems impossible by touch, the opponent's picture highlights but nothing happens upon clicking the image ->one needs to use the HW keyboard arrows + spacebar (default) to select and confirm damage to an opponent directly. Actually, it does work but you need to be aware of the algorithm: it selects the closest top-left corner of an element in the game. As the opponent is already at the top left corner, if you don't touch carefully, it does not work and select the opponent graveyard or first card. I agree it sucks and we should change it.
Probably by displaying larger player avatars -also the damage distribution screen leaves me very confused with touch and I need to get the HW keyboard to skip through it. But maybe I just don't get it yet. I must say, it's confusing for me as well =) It would be nice if one could play a gaming without having to rely on the hardware keyboard. Your time and effort to fine tune this application on Maemo will be greatly appreciated. Well, I have the same feeling.
The first port of Wagic on the N900 had no touch support and it was actually painful to play for me, that's why I added touch and mouse support for the desktop. -the massive processing power of Cortex A8 seems not to be put to good use. The AI does not think very long and comes up with not so clever moves / non moves Is there a way to choose longer calculation times resulting in more challenging (natural game play? ) Several things here: - the difficulty settings allows the AI to start first and even play several turns before you start. You should try it, it's very challenging. - the AI decks, especially the hard ones, are customized to be played correctly by the AI, so it's hard to beat them.
- apart from that, I agree that the wagic AI is ******ed:) We have several idea in the Wagic team to improve that. Last, but not least, if you like Wagic on N900, go vote for it here (so that it gets promoted to Extra!!!
Hi Xawotihs, Thanks for your tips above! -please check this video that shows a problem I can only sort by reverting to HW keyboard: -EDIT: tested on 2 separate devices: both regularly have the 'hand of cards' blocked from touch screen input as shown above. Switching to Hardware keyboard is the only way to select cards again. After that touch input works again. -this game is great - where to donate so that the contribution surely benefits or rewards your effort in support of Wagic on Maemo? -EDIT: Donated 10 Euro as a thank you for the current version. Cant seem to fix the controls myself.editing the options.txt does not solve it.!
Deleting it to reset makes it worst! For example if i press up, the output on the game is like i pressed it 4x.
Now you have to go back into the options menu to delete the duplicate keys. -- You can use the touch screen on the opening menu, go to options -- Use 'q' and 'a' to go to the key config menu and delete the duplicates, using the arrow keys and the 'space' to select, 'enter' to save and exit. -- But leave the 'Start' option alone, or else you'll end having to delete the options file again like I had to:-/ Hope that helps.
I unzipped the big file into MyDocs/wagic/Res/sets You should end up with a bunch of folders 2ED, 5ED, etc. All containing 2ED.zip and and _cards.dat (ie, no need to unzip twice) I'm just not getting this to work. I downloaded the PSP picture pack, created the 'sets' folder in Res (of some reason it wasn't there already) and unzipped the file there, creating all the edition folders. Tried it out, did not work. I then tried unzipping all the zip files in the edition folders, thus creating pictures in the folders instead. Tried it out, did not work. @All: 0.15.1 is available on extras-dev, details here (@TimusEravan You seem to have a conflict of binding.
I happens sometimes during upgrade. What you can do is either: - remove /home/user/MyDocs/wagic/Res/settings/options.txt and /home/user/MyDocs/wagic/Res/player/options.txt and restart the game. It should be enough but it will also reset your preferences. - you can also remove the game, remove all your local preferences in /home/user/MyDocs/wagic/ then reinstall the game, it would clean everything. Hi all, FIrst of all, I'd like to thank Xawotihs for this excellent port. It's great to have the whole MTG game in one's pocket!
Also, thanks for listening to user's requests. That's very much appreciated. I do have a couple of issues though, and would like to ask for some help here: 1. When I install the game, all the game files are stored in /home/user/wagic/Res/sets/, and not in /home/user/MyDocs/wagic/Res/sets, as reported earlier in this thread. Did any of you experience that?
I am a newbie and it took me a while to figure that out. The game does create an empty folder /home/user/MyDocs/wagic/Res/, but there is nothing in there.
When I tried to place the card pics there, it didn't have any effect. After some fiddling around for I while, I ended up with both folders (/home/user/wagic/Res/sets/ and /home/user/MyDocs/wagic/Res/sets) containing all the game data, including now the card pics. Certainly not the best way, but the game worked now, with all pics shown in the game. Can someone please explain to me, which of the two folders I should keep? Of course, /home/user/MyDocs/wagic/Res/sets would be preferable, so that I can easily manipulate the settings/pics/themes by just connecting the phone to my PC. The second issue is about sound. I couldn't get sound to work, neither FXs nor the game music (the Windows version of Wagic works fine on my PC).
Of course, I have set the sound options correctly. I have tried creating new player profiles and changing the settings there, but it just doesn't work.
I tried deleting all options.txt files and restarting the game, as well ad complete deletion and re-installation. I have the suspicion that it has someting to do with the above problems of the Res folder ambiguity. But I really don't know.
Can someone please explain to me the logic behind the keybindings? For example the number codes (e.g. Is there a table to look such numbers up? Sorry, I am a total noob. I have downloaded the PSP card pics, and they are sometimes a bit hard to read. Is there a real benefit in downloading and installing the 3.3GB set of HD card pics instead? Last but not least, I really appreciate the community here.
The N900 is IMHO the best smartphone to own at the moment, and I am enjoying mine more with every day. It's a shame that Nokia decided to drop this great OS.

All the Wagic versions are based on a 'resources' (Res) folder containing the bitmaps, sound, preferences, rules, extensions, decks, user preferences, mods. We want this folder to be totally user customizable that's why on Maemo, I decided to put it on the FAT partition so that it's directly visible on a PC when you plug your N900 on USB.
The main problem with this mechanism is that the complete installation failed if somebody wanted to install the game with the FAT partition mounted on a PC, the deployment of the RES folder failed, so the complete installation failed. Even if it worked, the game would crash if you even started it with the FAT partition mounted. This problem was reported by some user first then by the 'Extras-test' QA team when I tried to promote the game to 'Extras'. After a few discussion with them, it appears that a smarter way was to install was first elsewhere, I chosed '/home/user/wagic/Res' and then, using a launcher script, to '/home/user/MyDocs/wagic/Res'.
I also decided to perform a copy and not a move so that the game would still find some resources and not crash when the FAT partition is not mounted. In conclusion, if you want to customize the resources, just do it in the FAT partition, it's done for that. Googly Kannada Movie Video Songs Free Download Mp3. If you want, you can erase '/home/user/wagic/Res', but be aware that the game would in this case crash if you start it with the FAT partition unmounted. The second issue is about sound. I must say that I'm playing with the sound deactivated, and even my N900 is always with the sound deactivated. I'll look at that, but it should work.
The windows version of Wagic uses the fmod lib, the Maemo version uses Phonon directly. I may have done something wrong with the latest versions, I'll check that and come back to this thread. Can someone please explain to me the logic behind the keybindings? For example the number codes (e.g. Is there a table to look such numbers up?
Sorry, I am a total noob. The number you see are the Qt internal symbols for keys. It's basically a bug as you should see the name of the key instead. I must say that the binding for Wagic are a real mess, that's one of the reason why I coded the touch interface =) Anyway, the next version will probably be based on SDL instead of Qt, and I can try to fix this problem while I'm at it. I have downloaded the PSP card pics, and they are sometimes a bit hard to read.
Is there a real benefit in downloading and installing the 3.3GB set of HD card pics instead? I never even tried. But it should in theory be much better. Be sure to run the latest Wagic version and not some old version as I remember fixing a bug where the texture would be sometimes degraded and thus becomes unreadable. Usually, it's perfectly readable with the PSP version. Last but not least, I really appreciate the community here. Thanks for the detailed answer, Xawotihs. I understand now why there are two Res folders. This launcher script that you mentioned, do I need to execute it manually? Because now, even after several game starts (after a clean re-install), the /home/user/MyDocs/wagic/Res folder remains empty. And if I copy my card pics into it, they are not used (do not appear in game). I don't remember what I did previously, when I was 'fiddling around', apparently I had activated that script of yours somehow, because I had both Res folders filled with data afterwards.
But since I have deleted/uninstalled all Wagic data in order to get a clean re-install of the game, I have lost that state. What do I need to do to activate the script again? By the way, I did the clean re-install because I was hoping to get the sound fixed. But it didn't help.
Still no sound at all. I have played with sound on the PC, and I must say that the FXs&music add a bit of atmosphere for me. Although, probably I would also keep it on mute while playing in public. But thanks for checking!
Could you give an estimate on when the next version could be issued? OK, found the launcher script. However, there seems to be some issue with it. It seems to just create the /home/user/MyDocs/wagic/Res folder, but no files are copied to it. FAT is mounted by the way. I tried running the script from the terminal.
This is what happens: Current path: '/opt/wagic' Home directory /home/user not ours. Home directory /home/user not ours. Home directory /home/user not ours.
Home directory /home/user not ours. Home directory /home/user not ours. Home directory /home/user not ours. Home directory /home/user not ours. Home directory /home/user not ours.
Home directory /home/user not ours. Home directory /home/user not ours. I am sorry, but I am a total Linux noob. I guess there is an issue with.the user rights? Well, it worked fine untill I accidentally made a new deck without any cards in it. Funny thing was that I didn't even save it but the game still show it as a new deck. After starting Wagic again that 'ghost deck' dissapeared but the game started to crash again every time I select the classic mode.
Demo still runs fine. Another thing I found out was that now I can't get the menu appear with enter (or with any other key) when I'm in deck editor. I must close the program in order to get out from there. Enter key works like it should in every other place (shop, options, demogame.) in the game.
As strange reproducible issue with the controls I experience in v 15.1: -in beginning of game, scrolling through hand of cards by touch interface makes menu 'back to main menu / cancel' pop up 1 time, then no more. -after the above has occurred, the 'interrupt-button' (the zoom in, volume louder button on top if you likes) stops doing what it should do and throws one out of the game, straight to the desktop. Tried reinstalling and cleaning all Wagic related maps already to no avail. Edit: it might have something to do with CSSU and I could reproduce the issue on a second N900 after installing CSSU. Edit: problem solved: update to next C SSU version of end of May has made this issue disappear. *hardly breathing* Ok, I've tried almost everything to enable the images in the cards without any success. Downloaded the 33 parts ~~ 3 GB files from 2.
Unzipped it to Nokia/ wagic/res/sets ( ex. M10, DVD ), it now includes the dat files & zipped images in the apropariate folders. NO SUCCESS On the PC version of the game everything's working fine.
And yeah, I enabled image showing in Options. Hmm, I have only 1 folder in wagic/res -->it's 'sets'. Everything's ok? Be sure to run the latest 0.15.1 release of extras dev, all the other ones have upgrade problems. - be sure to copy your images into /home/user/MyDocs/wagic/Res/sets - be sure to play with the FAT partition unmounted.
- it works fine with the smaller PSP image sets (around 600MB if I remember correctly). *hardly breathing* Ok, I've tried almost everything to enable the images in the cards without any success. Downloaded the 33 parts ~~ 3 GB files from 2.

- you can also remove the game, remove all your local preferences in /home/user/MyDocs/wagic/ then reinstall the game, it would clean everything Hi, I am also experiencing this problem of the keys being 'too sensitive' - almost as though each keypress is being counted twice. I have a clean install of the game - not an upgrade. There are two copies of the options.txt file on my system, in /home/user/MyDocs/wagic/Res/player and /home/user/MyDocs/wagic/Res/settings. If I delete them both, then the problem goes away. Once I exit the game, both options.txt files have reappeared and the problem resurfaces.
Is there anything that can be done? It is a little irritating having to delete the options.txt files each time. Thanks, Spann.
Several things: Be sure to play with the FAT partition mounted otherwise you're actually not using /home/user/MyDocs/wagic/Res/ but /home/user/wagic/Res/ Consequently, you may be not erasing the correct options.txt files The keybinding logic of Wagic is handled in the Wagic core, not the maemo port, and it's buggy on every platforms as soon as you merge binding modification and upgrade. If the problem persist, you should erase everything located in /opt/wagic, /home/user/wagic and /home/user/MyDocs/wagic and do a fresh install. Implement one-single-click in main menu and options. It was already planned, and maybe even for the complete game. We currently have an SDL port doing that for Android, I might try to reuse the same logic with Qt and Maemo. - Let volume rocker to control volume of the game, as in any other application. Ok, I'll see what I can do, but then we need another easy way to cancel and go to the next phase.
- Add a debonf dialogue to allow the user to decide where to copy the Res folder (in my case I always move it to MyDocs/games/wagic). For Android, we'll probably have 'res' package separately downloaded. I guess I could try to reuse this concept for maemo and meego using Qt.
- There are some.svn folders included in the Res folder that should be deleted from future versions.
